The oasis of Lion’s Rest Hotel opened it’s doors in in January 2014 , we are situated in the beautiful natural fishing village of Gurubebila on the southern tip of Sri Lanka , we are between Weligama and Midigama

If you are looking for somewhere away from the crowds in nearby Weligama and Mirissa and immerse yourself in local culture and wake up to the sound of the Indian Ocean, you can do no more than choosing Lion’s Rest. We are a small 8 room Boutique Hotel (which includes 2 Family Rooms) with a pool facing on to an unspoilt quiet beach with not a plastic sun lounger in sight.

Lion’s Rest faces onto to Coconut Point surf break which is one of the least busy and best performing breaks in the area whole Weligama-Midigama area.

Start your day with a yoga practice, enjoy a relaxing massage, sample the traditional village life, watch the stilt fisherman pulling in their evening catch as the sun sets on the Indian Ocean.

Lion's Rest is located in a small fishing village known as Gurubebila. This stylish accommodation is just steps away from the beautiful unspoilt beach of Gurubebila Village. It welcomes guests with an outdoor pool, elegantly furnished rooms and free internet access.

This beachfront property is only 2 km away from Weligama Train Station and Bus Stand. The historical Galle city is 23 km away while Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport is 87 km away.

Featuring traditional Sri Lankan-style décor with modern furnishings, rooms come equipped with mosquito nets, large windows and a work desk. The stylish en suite bathrooms include rain-shower facilities.

Enjoy a swim or simply relax by the outdoor terrace. The friendly staff at Lion’s Rest can also organize snorkeling and fishing trips as well as barbequed meals. Travel arrangements can be made at the tour desk.
